The T.E.A.M. Equation
By David Jernigan of Hansa Center for Optimum Health
It was not a new conflict in our house so when Samantha, my oldest child, came to me with her sister Alexis in tow I knew a new tack was required to finally end the problem for good. “Dad, Alexis keeps wearing my clothes!” complained Samantha. “But they were in my drawer!” Alexis, my second born, countered. I knew what Samantha wanted – she wanted to pull the “Dad card” and have me make Proclamation 10,001 and forbid Alexis to ever wear Samantha’s clothes. Thankfully I was in a good space and had already taught all of my children the T.E.A.M equation (Thoughts + Emotions + Action = Manifestation) All of my kids know this equation by heart and have seen it work in their lives many times. I took Samantha to the side and said, “Do you recognize that you are running the T.E.A.M equation for something you don’t want and therefore are getting more of what you don’t want?” I went on, “I know you want me to make Alexis stop wearing your clothes, but I don’t want that police state energy in the house. It doesn’t feel good to me. It definitely won’t feel good to Alexis, and although you may get what you want it is with bad energy.” Samantha nodded as she listened, a veteran of many family squabbles and disputes, and with a resolute and clear heart when back to her room to figure out how to apply the equation to get what she wanted…a free and clear title to her own clothes. Many of you parents reading this can come with many alternate lessons to teach your child in this same situation, such as the proverbial lesson of sharing with others – a lesson pounded into us almost from the day we are born. As a teenager soon to be out of the house, I felt the need to teach Samantha a different lesson – that she determines what experiences come into her reality! A little while later Samantha came into my room beaming with the sweet energy of resolution and just a little pride in how well she ran the T.E.A.M. equation. She said, “I did it! I came up with a great way to phrase my want.” She happily went on, “I ran the equation to say I want Alexis to like her own clothes only!” “Wow, what a great way to phrase it!” I beamed, proud to see that her want did not contain a don’t want kind of phrasing, such as “I want for Alexis to not wear my clothes,” which still sends energy towards getting more of what is not wanted. I never will forget that within 24 hours, as Samantha and I stood at the top of the stairs in our house, about to go downstairs, Alexis came joyfully towards us from her room, with a spring in her step and a twinkle in her eye and proclaimed, “Hey I just want you to know that I have decided that I really like my clothes and I am not going to wear any of Samantha’s clothes!” I looked at Samantha as Alexis went on downstairs and asked, “Did you say anything to her about how you ran the equation?” “No!” replied the shocked and elated Samantha. Now this may seem trivial to many of you, but it was a great triumph in our house! What a valuable reminder for Samantha that she can apply the T.E.A.M equation throughout every aspect of her life. While we cannot “create in someone else’s universe,” meaning for instance that my applying the T.E.A.M. equation to want for someone to become a doctor when they don’t have that desire it will not create the new desire within them to become a doctor. We can, however, send out from our heart energy, the vibrations of what is wanted, and if on some level it resonates harmonically with a similar want within the other person we can dramatically shift what it is that we are getting from our interpersonal relationships. Stay tuned for more on the T.E.A.M equation. |
